Shop Updates

An update from Val at Kicksled Alaska (11/26/21):

We hope each and every one of you enjoyed a safe and happy Thanksgiving this week!

We are happy to announce that we will be OPEN on Saturday, Nov. 27, for Small Business Saturday. After suddenly cancelling our shop hours earlier this week for Covid exposure, our family has repeatedly tested negative. That said, we are going to move ahead with our open store hours for this Saturday.

We will be open from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. Our Fairbanks Manager, Morgan, and I will be the only staff at the shop. Please be kind as we try to help everyone on Saturday!

From 12 - 4 p.m. on Saturday the Double Shovel Cider Co. Outdoor Market will be underway. More than 20 local vendors are participating. This is a great opportunity to shop local and enjoy the best cider in Alaska. There will be no parking in front of our shop, please park on the street (58th Ave.).

With anticipated colder temps, we will be operating our business inside. Usually we swing our garage door open, but not tomorrow. Everyone is invited to come warm up inside, we just ask that you please wear a mask while inside our store.

From our family to yours, we wish you warm holiday greetings this season!

An update from Val at Kicksled Alaska (11/23/21)

Our little shop has been running at full speed with minimal staff coverage this month.

At the moment, we have zero staff (including myself) that are able to be in our Anchorage shop during business hours this week to hand off kicksleds (thank you, Covid). While none of our staff have tested positive, most of us have been exposed at some point in the last few days and are following the guidelines for vaccinated adults. As a mom of two toddlers that were exposed, I am overseeing their two-week home quarantine and hoping for the best.

Thank you for your support and understanding as we do our part to keep our community safe and healthy and navigate our current situation.

From our family to yours, we wish everyone a safe and warm Thanksgiving.
